WHO WE ARE

Our Purpose

To support and promote the development of child advocacy centers in Wisconsin and their efforts to provide child friendly locations to facilitate multidisciplinary team assessments with reported child victims. CACs also provide advocacy and support to alleged child victims and their family members.

Our Vision

The development of local or regional child advocacy centers throughout Wisconsin so that all children who are alleged victims of abuse have easy access to the services of a child advocacy center.

Our Mission

To create and sustain a statewide coalition dedicated to the establishment and success of child advocacy centers and multi-disciplinary teams.

To provide support, education, advocacy, and networking opportunities to enhance Wisconsin’s response to child maltreatment and neglect.

OUR SERVICES

Advocacy

CACs of WI provides education to state and federal legislators on CACs and a CAC’s role in child maltreatment investigations.

Many chapter members of CACs of WI are also members of state-wide committees and Task Forces developed to discuss issues pertaining to child welfare and child abuse issues.

Education & Training

CACs of WI sponsors and provides statewide education on multi-disciplinary approaches to the investigation of child abuse, treatment of child abuse victims, and prosecution of criminal child abuse and neglect, including several state-wide conferences for child abuse professionals.

CACs of WI members assist in the education of staff on best practices in the field of child maltreatment.

Mentoring

CACs of WI provides education to state and federal legislators on CACs and a CAC’s role in child maltreatment investigations.

Many chapter members of CACs of WI are also members of state-wide committees and Task Forces developed to discuss issues pertaining to child welfare and child abuse issues.
